Sunflower rays of sunshine from Aug 26
Today's ride was our 2nd search for the ever elusive Sunflower field. There is something special about a large field of flowered sunflowers. Two weeks ago we road out to find the sunflower fields of Perlick, however we missed it by two miles.
Having gotten a tip from Lee, another rider and friend, on the location we left home and crossed into Wisconsin. We found the Perlick Distiller sunflower fields maze close to Sarona, WI. It was late in the day so we did not try the field maze. The Perlick farm opened a distiller there. It's a cute place with a bar, food, and plenty of outdoor activity. I typically do not drink and ride so I cannot comment on the spirits. The bar was very busy so we didn't stay. We just used the restrooms. They are expanding and it looks like a formal restaurant is coming. I know that we will be back. If you get there, and had the pleasure to sample their product, please leave a comment.
A few miles down the road We stopped for lunch at Adventures restaurant in Siren, Wi. As the skies were beginning to darken we ran for home from there. We got home before it rained.
